Ashtray

Synopsis:

Ashtray is an experimental short film inspired by the works of Chris
Marker and Sergio Leone. Told in approximately five minutes, Ashtray
recounts the experiences of Emmanuel Brown, a young wide-boy who finds
his attempts to return to London thwarted by a series of
circumstantial events including cancelled trains, enigmatic strangers
and a packet of dry roasted peanuts.

His patience tested to its fullest, Emmanuel becomes embroiled in a
antagonistic game of mimicry where every action creates further
tension. Told entirely in stills, Ashtray captures a moment in time
which is both humorous and rewarding, pastiche and homage.
