Synopsis:
The Memoirs of Fugu Sashimi’ is a short film shot entirely on super
8. Told from the point of view of a doomed blowfish, The Memoirs of
Fugu Sashimi is an exuberant fusion of inventive film-making style and
experimental story-telling techniques. Featuring an ensemble cast
including Drew Hunt, Adam Goldsmith and Charlotte Coy, The Memoirs of
Fugu Sashimi is a wonderful blend of old-meets-new as the principle
performers find themselves transported from Victorian period England
into a schichy contemporary sushi restaurant with seemingly only each
other for company.
Made as part of the Straight8 short film festival, the rules stipulate
that films can be no longer than 3 minutes and 20 seconds in length
and must be shot in sequence without synchronised sound.
